What Is Compostable Biodegradable Material?

There is a lot of information about environmentally friendly degradable materials, and it is very important to figure out some of the main key points for users and friends. Among them, many customers' good friends do not know the meaning of composting environmentally friendly degradable materials.
Composting is an aerobic treatment method. Compostability refers to the ability of a material to be biodegraded in the case of composting. A material containing paper, plastic, etc., which claims to be compostable, must demonstrate that the material is biodegradable and dissolved in the composting mechanism (as shown by the normative test method) and that it is sufficiently biodegradable during the final use of the compost. The compost must comply with the appropriate technical standards. Product quality standards such as low heavy metal content, no microbial toxicity, and no significant distinguishable residues.
According to the definition, truly environmentally friendly degradable materials must be completely converted to carbon dioxide and water within 180 days according to the efficacy of bacteria under the composting standard. This 180-day deadline is manually requested. Why half a year? It's because it has to be tackled together with food waste. 300 days and 500 days are difficult to solve, so this rule is made by human factors. In fact, depending on the thickness of the material, the dissolution time of the compost will vary. In the case of plastic film, it can be completely dissolved in 350 days. If it is made into plastic products, it may indeed take 180 days, or even insufficient.
Compostable environmentally friendly degradable materials can be divided into two categories, one is bio-based compostable materials and the other is petroleum-based compostable materials. Bio-based compostable materials can be directly separated into materials that are immediately derived from green plants, such as paper paddles, polycarbonate (PLA), alicyclic polyester (PHA) and their natural chemicals and a mixture of the above two polymers. Petroleum-based compostable materials are derived from petroleum such as polybutylene terephthalate (PBAT)/polyethylene glycol (PCL).
